1884 (1064 Thulam 24) – Pulikkottil Joseph Mar Joseph Mar Dionysius II bought 22 acres of land at the heart of Kottayam Town for the Church.

1896 December 6 – The Reception Room of the Estate Bungalow was extended to west and it was named Mar Elia Chapel as suggested by Parumala Thirumeni. It was consecrated by Joseph Mar Joseph Mar Dionysius with the co-operation of Parumala Thirumeni.

1911 – September 7 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association assembled.

1929 – September 15 – Metropolitian Geevargese II was raised as the Catholicos

1931 July 10 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association Assembled.

1932 The Chapel and Seminary Building were reconstructed by Vattasseril Thirumeni.

1934 – December 26 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association Assembled and selected Geevarghese II Bava as the Malankara Metapolitan and passed the Church constitution.

1937 March 13 – Mar Elia Chapel was raised as a parish by Geevarghese II Bava.

1937 May St Lazarus Semitary was consecrated for the parish by Pampady Thirumeni

1945 – 1959 Theological education did here as the old seminary was closed due to the church ……

1951 May 17 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association Assembled

1652 February 7 – Catholicos Geevarghese II consecrated the St Lazaruz Church.

1957 – February 3 Geevarghese II Bava held a meeting with Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru here.

1959 September 16 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association assembled.

1964 May 22 – Augen I Bava was raised as the Catholiocos.

1965 December 28 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association assembled and selected five priests as metropolitans.

1966 March 27 – Catholiocs Augen I Bava consecrated the madbaha and raised Mar Elia Chapel as the official cathedral of the catholicos.

1970 December 31 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association assembled and selected Mathews Mar Attanasios as the successor of Augen Bava.

1972 July 2 - In connection with the 19 century death commemoration of St Apostle, Holy Qurbana on 19 Thronoses held.

1977 January – Russian Patriarch St.Peman visited and conducted the worship.

1980 May 1 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association assembled and selected Metrapolitan Mathews Mar Coorilos as successor of the Catholiocs.

1982 – Grand procession in connection with the 70th anniversary of the re-establishment of the catholicate started from here.

1984 – November 18 – H.H. Baselious Marthoma Mathews I Bava consecrated the re-constructed cathedral.

1985 October 23 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association assembled.

1986 February 6 Meeting between Pope John Paul and H.H. Baselious Marthoma Mathews I held here.

1987 – September – H.H. Baselious Marthoma Mathews I Bava inaugurated the celebrations connected with the 50th year of the formation of the church.

1987 December 28 – Malankara Syrian Christian Association held.

1989 January 8 Commemorative celebrations connected with the 25th death anniversary of Geevarghese II Bava started here. Rumenian Patriarch Mar Theotic Ras Bava and delegates from there, Armenian Bishop Achan Baliyosan, Central Ministries Krishnakumar, and M.M.Jacob participated.

1991 February 10 – Catholicos elect Mathews Mar Coorilos consecrated the cathedral house in the presence of Mathews I Bava.

1995 December 6 – Elia Cathedral Centinary Celebration inaugurated by Governor P.Sivasankar.

1999 May 15 – Mathew II Bava inaugurated the Marthoma Mathews I Hall.

2001 September 15, 16 –H.H. Baselious Marthoma Mathews II inaugurated the re-constructed Madbaha.

Catholicate elect Thomas Mar Themotheos, Dr.Geevarghese mar Osthatteos, Mathews mar Ephipanoes, Dr.Geevarghese, Mar Ivanios were present.
