This brings Christmas and New Year greetings to you from everyone associated with the magnificent, marvelously beautiful and awe-inspiring temple of god in the heart of kottayam namely Mar Elia Cathedral.
Many, very many are the factors that contribute to the glory and uniqueness of this cathedral, let alone the historical.

The small chapel named after the great prophet Elijah was the blessed fulfillment of the view of thanks giving to the lord from St.Gregorios of parumala.

As years rolled out and in, the chapel grew to the stature of the cathedral of the Catholicose of the East and thereby the holy arena for many significant events.
But it goes without saying that the alertness to maintain the charm and strength of the edifice has to be kept up.

Hence this letter discloses to you a brilliant plan for the beautification of the interior of our cathedral designed by the famous architect Mr.K.J.Peter, which will surely delight all its lovers. It is the need of the hour and flawless expertise as the imprint of the design shows, demands high cost of expenditure as to twenty five lakhs of rupees. And so, at this juncture, I request you to join in prayers and also to render strong financial support.
Shall we recall Psalm 122 and sing that ‘We are glad when they suggest to us to give to the house of the lord’
